Prescription Take Back Program

Do you have unwanted medications around your home? Help protect your family, your community, and the envirTake It to the Boxonment by properly disposing of them. Unwanted medicines can be collected from individual households only. Medications cannot be accepted from businesses such as nursing homes, doctor's offices, or any other institution or business.

What to Bring to the Collection

Leave all medicines in their original containers if possible. Please do not bring thermometers, needles, or medical waste of any type The following items can be dropped off:

  • Drugs that are no longer used
  • Drugs that didn't work for you, a family member, or pet
  • Expired or unwanted prescription medications
  • Medicine from deceased family members
  • Un-needed or expired over-the-counter medicines
  • Unknown tablets and capsules
