Building Safety

The Department of Building Safety functions conducted by the City of New Ulm refers to the enforcement of Building and Fire Code requirements as set forth in the Minnesota State Building Code and the Minnesota State Fire Code. Inspection functions include:

  • Enforcing applicable State and local Building Code requirements including:
    • Accessibility
    • Construction
    • Energy
    • Fence
    • Fire
    • Flood-proofing
    • Mechanical
    • Plumbing
    • Sidewalk
    • Sign regulations
    • Zoning
  • Providing staff support to the New Ulm Planning Commission
